Death in Venice - Michael Henry Heim, Thomas Mann, Michael Cunningham So, even if I've skipped "The Magic Mountain" or "Doctor Faustus" so far, I read Thomas Mann, didn't I? ;)

The novella is really good, the film must have played an important role as well, first I watched it and then I wanted to read the book.
Gustave Aschenbach is one of those old men who have that aura of dignity and sophistication that leaves me speechless. And Venice! Venice has nothing to do with all the fascination and stupid carnivals I'm so sick of!
