La vie devant soi - Romain Gary, Émile Ajar I'm so glad i saved this book from the 'seduced but abandoned' shelf. Sooo much better than anything else I've read written from a young boy's perspective. The funny fact is that I read other two of this kind this month - [book: Cum mi-am petrecut vacanta de vara] and [book: Mi Planta de Naranja Lima]. Momo's perspective is so much different, funny and sensitive at the same time, brilliant 1st person narrative.

Gary is the only writer to be awarded the Goncourt prize twice, because he published La vie devant soi under a pen name (Emile Ajar)and the academy didn't know that. He had won the Goncourt before for Les racines du ciel.
